There are two types of MWC Controllers, this one that we sell is the SE version or Standard edition - but there are cheaper ones called MultiWii Lite, these have a number of functions missing, are less stable than the SE version, and if you buy one, you'll regret it in the long run and wished you went for the SE version in the first place !

With the same program being open source compared to a KKBoard or ACM, MWC's is more stable with much better at producing a stable flight performance, the flight skills required for a novice are that much lower, and the debugging process is more intuitive.
A Dedicated MWC GUI program supplied with this controller ( as shown below), allows you to easily change the parameters, and visually observe the PID parameter changes, flight control signal input / output status, sensor / switch-state, as well as the aircraft attitude and heading sensor signal state of each control - all of which makes it a whole lot easier to set up !.

The Tool to connect the computer via FTDI, allows you to cahnge the flight mode and can be easily converted at any time. XCopter mode is the default setting when shipped
MultiWii SE Standard Edition Hardware configuration:

MWC is a mainstream hardware platform with a combination of commonly used settings, which is similar in operation and equivalent to Arduino Pro Mini and FFIMU 0.35 9DOF IMU sensor combined, integrated design makes working with the controller very easy, and will allow you to create a more stable flight control.
MWC SE in addition to the necessary input / output ports, also allows a variety of expansioninterfaces to be connected, some modules can be used for FPV OSD (on Screen dispaly), a LCD liquid crystal module will allow you to change any of the parameters away from the computer or make instant on field adjustments, Bluetooth module, the data transmission module, GPS module, satellite receiver, 3-axis head and other equipment connection. With the Crius MWC LCD module, on field adjustments can easily be made to the PID parameters, no longer need to carry a laptop computer with you !

This is the newest revision of our FTDI BASIC. It now uses a SMD 6-pin header on the bottom, which makes it smaller and more compact. Functionality has remained the same.
This is a basic breakout board for the FTDI FT232RL USB to serial IC. The pinout of this board matches
the FTDI cable to work with official Arduino and cloned 5V Arduino boards. It can also be used for general serial applications. The major difference with this board is that it brings out the DTR pin as opposed to the RTS pin of the FTDI cable. The DTR pin allows an Arduino target to auto-reset when a new Sketch is downloaded. This is a really nice feature to have and allows a sketch to be downloaded without having to hit the reset button. This board will auto reset any Arduino board that has the reset pin brought out to a 6-pin connector.
The pins labeled BLK and GRN correspond to the colored wires on the FTDI cable. The black wire on the FTDI cable is GND, green is CTS. Use these BLK and GRN pins to align the FTDI basic board with your Arduino target.
This board has TX and RX LEDs that make it a bit better to use over the FTDI cable. You can actually see serial traffic on the LEDs to verify if the board is working.
This board was designed to decrease the cost of Arduino development and increase ease of use (the auto-reset feature rocks!). Our Arduino Pro boards and LilyPads use this type of connector.
One of the nice features of this board is a jumper on the back of the board that allows the board to be configured to either 3.3V or 5V (both power output and IO level). This board ship default to 5V, but you can cut the default trace and add a solder jumper if you need to switch to 3.3V.
